High in the remote mountains of Kyrgyzstan lies Song Kul, a vast alpine lake surrounded by rolling grasslands. At 3,016 metres above sea level, it is sheltered by snow-capped peaks, creating the feeling of an untouched paradise. Here, nomadic life has endured for generations.
AN UNBROKEN WAY OF LIFE
Horses remain the heart of daily life, yurts dot the landscape, and families continue to move with the seasons, much as their ancestors did before them. There is something beautifully uncomplicated about this way of life — shaped by the land, the seasons, and little else.
Perhaps it is no wonder that so much of it remains largely unchanged to this day. The warmth of the yurt and the saddle is truly a freedom like no other.

Winding roads climb through vast rolling mountains and snow-capped peaks, opening onto wide valleys cut by crystal-clear streams. Herds graze freely across the hillsides, appearing around almost every bend — it is a landscape that feels as wild and timeless as the way of life it sustains.
